Loudog are a Germen ska/punk band, formed in 2001. Apparently their previous name was “Cumshot”, but they changed the name to Loudog in 2007. I’m grateful for this…think about the kind of traffic I’d get from having “Cumshot” in my title!
They have toured with some pretty big bands in their time, including The Toasters and The Real McKenzies. The album posted here is their second (and seems to be most liked among the fans). If you enjoy it, leave me a comment and I’ll post the first one too.
The name Loudog is influenced by Sublime, being that is was the name of Brad Nowell’s dog. They may or may not have started as a Sublime tribute band, but the slower, more chilled tracks on the album definitely have a very Sublime-esque sound. For a ska/punk record, it’s really varied. If you’re not into the genre, you should listen anyway. I don’t see anyone as being able to hate it. If you like fast music, you’ll find something to enjoy, and if you like slower, more relaxing music, you’ll also find something to enjoy. It’s got some catchy-as-hell moments and a whole lot of moments to make you smile. If you’re feeling the harshness of Autumn coming up on you and it’s bringing you down, Loudog will bring back some summery memories for you. They’ll make you feel good again.
